Worship & Music

Handbells & Handchimes

We invite you to worship with us!   As we transition back to worshiping in person, our goal is to also provide virtual opportunities for worship either live or recorded as well as via Facebook and our YouTube channel.  The best way to stay on top of worship options is to consult our emailed newsletter/announcements which provides information on our Sunday, Wednesday and daily compline/morning prayer opportunities.

As for on-campus worship, for the time being, masks remain required while in the church building.  We also encourage participants to refrain from singing at this time and perhaps practice on your exceptional humming skills. We do this for the safety and consideration of all of our parishioners and visitors, to protect those who are vulnerable amongst us.

Music

Music at Epiphany is a vital part of our life together as a community. Music weaves together our services with traditional liturgies alongside chants from communities like Taizé and Iona. We have a healthy appreciation and respect for newer music, music from around the world, hymnody and rote-style learning.

Sing and Play

Typically, we gather as singers and instrumentalists on Wednesday nights to prepare to lead congregational singing. High festivals and holidays are often observed with more traditional instrumentation and choral singing, processionals and recessionals, etc. Most worship services are led by a worship band featuring guitar and ukulele, flute and various percussion instruments as well as keyboard and organ.

During this time of COVID, we’re unsure what the bell program can look like in the fall – but we’re hopeful that ringing will begin to come back in phases as our community starts worshipping together in person once again.
